RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for October 18, 2023
The following notes represent my personal summary of the October General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the October meeting:
- Minutes of the September 20th, 2023 meeting
- The financial statement ending September 2023 and the disbursements of $249,184.42. Our receipts were in excess of our disbursements by $121,972.68. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $254,044.45.

The following motions were approved:
· 1) Motion – Approve a donation of $1000.00 for the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation
2) Motion - Approve a up to three members to attend the Returning to Spirit - Seeds of Reconciliation Workshop to be held in
Sault Ste. Marie on November 20th, 2023. Must submit name to deblogan@usw2251.ca by November 1st, 2023. If we have
more than three members applying, we will have a draw.
3) Motion - Approve a up to $18,000.00 to purchase dessert trays and 200 Personal Essential Bags to be donated for active and
retired members in the nursing homes, hospital and ARCH.
4) Motion - Approve up to $106,000.00 to purchase 2400 hats for members.
President's Report
- No report as Mike could not attend meeting.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on November 15, 2023, at the Delta Hotel at 7:30 pm.
