RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for September 16th, 2026
The following notes represent my personal summary of the September General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.
The following was approved at the September meeting:
- The minutes of the August 19th, 2026 General Membership meeting
- The financial statement ending August 2026 and the disbursements of $105,677.28. Our disbursements were in excess of our receipts by $28,157.98. This resulted in our General Account being positive by $113,581.40.

The following motions were approved:
- Approve a donation of $500.00 to the Police Retirees Teddy Bear Program to hand out to children in traumatic situations
- Approve a donation of up to $27,000.00 to sponsor the breakfast programs at the Huron-Superior School Board and
Algoma District School Board
- Approve a donation of up to $17,000.00 for supplies for personal bags and desserts to be delivered to the nursing homes,
ARCH and SAH at Christmas Time
President's Report
- Mike told the members that the Union would be sending out a survey soon to our members regarding the upcoming negotiations
- Mike stated that Alex Nanni would be our new guide, Jay Ripplinger would be the new trustee and Bill Black would be our new
guard.
The next General Membership Meeting will be held on October 21st, 2026 at the Royal Canadian Legion at 7:30 pm.
