RE: General Membership Meeting Summary Report for November 16, 2022


The following notes represent my personal summary of the November General Membership Meeting and ARE NOT OFFICIAL MINUTES. They are for the express purpose of keeping the members informed in a timely fashion. Since minutes must be approved at a subsequent General Membership Meeting, any updates which would require the use of the actual minutes would result in updates being one-month old.

The following was approved at the November meeting:

  • Minutes of the October 19th, 2022 meeting 
  • The financial statement ending October 31st, 2022 and the disbursements of $126,574.73.   Our disbursements were in excess of our receipts by $69,019.71.  This resulted in our General Account being positive by $70,036.33.

The following was approved at the March meeting:

  1. Motion – Approve the cost up to $14,000.00 to purchase dessert trays and approximately 200 Personal Essential Bags to be donated for active and retired members in the nursing homes, hospital and ARCH.
  2. Motion – Approve a donation of $200.00 to survivors of deceased members and $300.00 for a family of members who have passed in the past year.
  3. Motion – Approve a donation to $1500.00 to the Sault Ste Marie Soup Kitchen.
  4. Motion – Approve  a donation of $1500.00 to to support St. Vincent's.
  5. Motion - Approve up to $1000.00 to hold a social after the December General Membership Meeting.
  6. Motion - Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support the ARCH Hospice
  7. Motion -  Approve a donation of $1500.00 to support Pauline's Place.
  8. Motion - Approve a donation of $30.00 to the Royal Canadian Legion.  The wreaths have gone up in price from $120.00 to $150.00.
  9. Motion - Approve a donation of $1000.00 to support Shadows of the Mind Film Festival.
  10. Motion - Approve a donation of $55,600.00 to purchases two Bi-Pap (non-invasive ventilators) machines for Sault Area Hospital to be used in the ICU and ER.

 11.  Motion - Approve a donation of $1000.00 to the Canadian Fallen Heroes Foundation

1 Death - Brother Raymond Boland, #4362


The membership will observe a minute of silence for our late Brother Raymond Boland.

The next General Membership Meeting will be held on December 21st, 2022 at 7:30 p.m., to be determined.
