Brothers and sisters,
The bargaining committee are
still in Burlington and are meeting with the company. Your negotiating
committee continues bargaining responsibly and to the betterment of all members
of LU 2251.
Todays update is being sent to
inform you that the Contract Action Team sent a letter, via fax, to 24 Bank
Manager's across our region. The letter explained we are currently involved
in negotiations with the Company and when our contract expires. We also
asked each Bank Manager that in the unlikely event of a work stoppage, and if
aproached by a member of 2251 during a work stopage, for them to provide a
moratorium on all account's (mortgage, loans, lines of credit) to be extended
until after a work stopage ended.
Below you will find an e-mail
that was sent to Mike Da Prat, 2251 Union President and Ian Kerlsey. Mike Da
Prat would like you to be aware of this communique so that the members of
LU 2251 remain informed.

I am sending you this
note to inform you that effective Monday, July 16th we will begin
training exempt people on the key operating positions that are required to
maintain integrity of the assets in the event of a work stoppage. There will be
approximately fifty exempt employees trained between Monday and the end of the
month.
I will be
meeting with these exempt people to ensure they understand the need for their
assignment, the scope of the assignment and the necessity to engage with the
unionized employees in a co-operative fashion. I don’t expect there to be any
issues.
In addition I plan to
send out a memo to all employees informing them that this training will be
taking place and explaining the need to do it.
